Get Your Geek On

Thick rimmed spectacles not needed but enjoying a good book is currently what designers are drawing major inspiration from for their accessories collections.

Firstly, at Burberry‘s SS15 RMTO show just gone I saw clutches inspired by vintage book covers. Thick black brush stroke lines swept across intense pink, blue and orange clutches.

Intense reading is not dull at Burberry’s SS15 women’s runway show.

However, it is Olympia Le Tan‘s homage to Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland which is playing on my childhood sentiments. My dad began reading it too me as child but the concept of a young girl being forever lost from her family scared me so much I never let him finish. Despite never truly ‘enjoying’ Caroll’s classic tale, I am certainly appreciating this signature book clutch. It is embroidered by hand on felt, finished with a brass frame and Liberty print lining: this is one costume piece, just do not loose it down a rabbit hole!
